This is my first post on Substack. I will do my utmost best to publish regular posts on international retail, marketing, e-commerce, product management, advertisement, and more.
I will publish for now irregularly. I will try to embed some humor in the posts, so it is more fun to read and receive.
Thanks for reading,

🇨🇳 Radar report on travel and social trends in China
This company regularly posts its “Radar Report” and I always read it. They are based in China and there is always many things to learn from Chinese retail and marketing. You will find a direct link to their report here. This time it focuses on the travel industry and it is very interesting to read how the Chinese platforms embed the travel trends.
🇹🇭 Don Quijote, Asia 24hrs retail
When I travel I always like to visit stores and see how on and offline are integrated and how the retail experience and customer journeys are. A while ago I was in Bangkok and I discovered this store. I was attracted by their company song that they play all day and their 24-hour shopping environment (yes you can shop really 24 hrs a day). I made a video of this brand (including the company song). I am sure it sticks in your head as well.
🖖AI: Imagine 24hrs AI product support
Wow! This is the future of product support. Share your screen with an AI assistant and the AI assistant will guide you through all the steps you need to take to achieve your goal. And of course, this can be in any language.
🇸🇦 Digital transformation in Saudi Arabia
I think it is also very interesting to keep a close eye on what is happening in Saudi Arabia, they are really massively investing in digital commerce.
Saudi Arabia’s e-commerce market is growing quickly. According to the Ministry of Commerce, it grew by 32% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2023. Total commercial registers issued during the quarter was 4093, up from 3499 in the first quarter of 2022.
Saudi Arabia is a driving force behind anticipated investment in digital transformation reaching $76bn across the Middle East, Turkey and Africa by 2026, according to a study released in 2022 by the International Data Corporation.
I will keep you informed, as I read regularly about it. Here is the source of the snippets above.
