🦾Clone your way to internationalization with Clonable
I was invited to an insightful afternoon on international digital marketing at Tomahawk Agency in the Netherlands. It was a very enjoyable experience. One speaker was Niels Arts from Clonable, and he showcased his tool for webshop internationalization.
When discussing internationalization, the first step often involves ensuring you have high-quality translations. However, the process of translating can typically be quite tedious. I speak from experience, having used WPML to translate WordPress sites, and there are always performance or compatibility implications.
This presentation from "Clonable" truly excited me because "Clonable" creates a translated "clone" of your webshop/site at a subdomain or new domain.
That's not all; the newly cloned webshop remains continuously synchronized between your original webshop and your translated webshop.
Naturally, my initial thought was, "What if it also clones my GTM container or my chat script? That's not what I want." They have a fantastic built-in solution for this called "substitute rules." With this feature, you can remove or modify code through a user-friendly interface.
They already support a significant number of webshop/website platforms, like woocommerce, shopware, magento and much more. Shopify will soon be added to the list as well.
Niels mentioned that they are constantly innovating. The translation is currently handled by a variety of translation services, and they will soon integrate AI into the process. The AI system will be able to proofread translations or alter the "tone" of the text. This is ideal for scenarios like formalizing translated text for the German market compared to the Dutch market or the original text.
The tool also includes an integrated language switcher (if you don't have one, they have one built-in).
Additionally, the tool makes it straightforward to implement localization changes such as adding the euro symbol (€) behind the price, a common practice in Germany but not in the Netherlands. They also incorporate built-in SEO localization adaptations. And if you're concerned about your translated product feed, they have a solution for that too – a built-in translated XML feed.
This tool is truly awesome. Check it out!

An ad hook is a short, attention-grabbing phrase or sentence that is used to entice potential customers to read or watch an advertisement.
This infographic explains what makes a good Ad Hook. It’s useful for when you are creating ads.
Writing about Hooks, I think this one has a pretty good communication hook. Even though I am not vegetarian, it hooked me:

A good thumbnail on your YouTube channel can significantly increase the CTR for your video. That can result in a higher ranking of your video.
90% of the best-performing videos on YouTube have a custom thumbnail. For optimizing your Thumbnails, many people switch to tools like TubeBuddy, but it appears now that YouTube finally is going to release Thumbnail AB testing soon itself.
