🇦🇪 If you haven’t heard of Ras Al Khaimah, check this out
As a fan of global marketing and remote work, I regularly keep track of the best places to work and live. Although these lists are, of course, subjective and depend on personal preferences, now and then something unexpected stands out.
I knew already (after a visit or two) that the UAE is a great place to do remote work. But I did not visit or hear of the city of Ras Al Khaimah. Recently this city has ranked fourth best. A city to remember and visit.
Malaga, Alicante and Valencia were ranked as the top three expat cities, based on ease of settling in, great healthcare and good personal finances.
🇪🇺 Wero
A new pan-European digital payment method called WERO will start in 2024. As of now, it seems to consist of lots of compromises and political aspects and is not developed from a user perspective.
Wero is the overall organization, but the local banks will issue the Wero wallet.
So most likely you will have a “Wero Wallet” issued by the local bank that you can fund with money. But you can also pay with your existing bank account via this wallet and pay with the future digital euro, that will be in this wallet as well. So three similar payment methods in one wallet. Quite confusing.
The digital euro is also a payment method that cannot be funded with more than 3000 euros, so it cannot be used to save money, and is also often not sufficient to pay.
We will see, for cross-border payments, it might be useful. Expected, but not confirmed are integrated loyalty programs.
I believe much more in the open format of the lightning network for a much better user experience as everyone can design a wallet.
The company recently announced that its digital wallet, named Wero, is set to redefine the way people pay, bridging the gaps in the current payment ecosystem in Europe.

🪙Coinbase releases a commercial that is rebranded by a community within minutes
Coinbase released a great ad (part of a series). What they probably did not expect was that the Bitcoin community changed this ad, by removing the coinbase bumper and adding a bitcoin bumber. 🙃
I will show you the amended video (so not with the coinbase logo at the end) here below:
Coinbase's "Break the Cycle" advertising campaign is part of its broader effort to educate Americans about the role of cryptocurrency in creating a more open, fair, and efficient financial system.
The coinbase youtube channel has the original ones and the rest of the series.
🇨🇳Chinese restaurant owner goes viral on robot moves
Restaurant owners need to be creative to get customers into their restaurants. This restaurant owner does a very good job in “robot serving”.
I can imagine the robot needs to change its speed setting to high instead of this slow pace if it's going to complete the task on time.
🤓Use ChatGPT-4 to create user stories and optimize designs
I played a bit with ChatGPT-4 (the paid version) to try as a product manager or product owner, to get suggestions based on scientific research or best practices for a design or website. It all has to do with ChatGPT-4’s ability to read images. It worked pretty well, check it out below:
