🇨🇳 Brands of the world: Pop Mart, China
I like to visit stores abroad, to see how they mix on and offline experiences, or just simply visit unknown brands.
I stumbled upon this brand recently as it was very close to my hotel. I did some research and asked around:
Here's a short video with the brand story.
🗺️Cross-cultural UX design case studies🗺️
There is a lot to learn about cross-cultural design. This medium post has links to several studies and gives some examples of minor changes that can have a large impact. Use it to understand how small design changes can make a big difference.
Travelbird is a platform that was developed in the low-UA Netherlands. When they opened this website to German users, few deals were sold. Only after adding extensive information on the German website, sales increased.

🗺️Strike: en route to a global payment infrastructure
The strike app has added lots of new countries and can soon be used in over 65 countries. Why it is important? Strike uses the Bitcoin rail to send fiat money all over the world at super-low rates and ultra fast. They are also an advocate for the best user experience on payment apps. This app helps people in developing countries a lot.
Unfortunately not yet available in the “innovative” EU
Send Globally (fiat-over-lightning) rails are now available for Strike users globally, allowing customers in supported countries to cash out their fiat, USDT, or bitcoin to their local currencies (even if they don’t have a debit card). Send Globally cash-outs are now supported in 12 countries, including the Philippines, Mexico, Vietnam, Ghana, and Kenya, with more to come

🌏BigPay: has integrated multiple QR code payment systems
QR code payments are popular in Asia and every country has its own systems. BigPay now has integrated a few of them. Making it more convenient to do cross-border payments. It’s much easier, last time I was in Thailand I could not set up promptpay, and the last time I was in China it was quite a hassle to get Alipay working. This app makes these things easier. Curious how the after-payment experience is, as with some apps this is also quite important (and fun), I can imagine they could not integrate that part.

🇯🇵 Japanese commercials: delivering unexpected and engaging narratives that resonate.
Japanese commercials are different from the West. They are often more creative and have a big element of surprise and humor. Japanese commercials often tell a story and a narrative, and unveil the advertised product at the end.
Time for a smile:
